The British Library has launched a new website called Sport and Society that views London 2012 through the lens of social science and is appealing for people to contribute their existing Games-related articles and publications. Lord Sebastian Coe, Chair of London 2012, and Hugh Robertson MP, Minister for Sport and Olympics, visited University of Leeds School of Music to present ‘Steps to Inclusion’ with the Inspire Mark – the 500th project to be awarded the prestigious logo. New London 2012 related opportunities, events and competitions, as well as showcases of universities and colleges' work, are regularly being added to the Podium website. BUCS Conference 2010 starts next Tuesday 13 July and runs for three days with guest speakers including London 2012's Director of Paralympic Integration, Chris Holmes. Vcashpoint grants of £2,500 are available to 16 to 25-year-olds in England with ideas for London 2012 inspired projects in their communities. Colleges can win a visit from a top class athlete through the Get Set network by demonstrating how they are learning about the Olympic and Paralympic values. |
